Live edge tables and islands can really reinvent a space. You're not just looking at a run-of-the-mill squared off dining table or kitchen island, you're looking at a piece that has shape and flow. Our solid wood, live edge pieces bring craftsmanship and artistry into any room. What do you want your space to say about you?

Jesse went above and beyond with our boardroom table, computer workstations and custom vestibule area. We really wanted to capture a specific feeling in our brand new office space, one that was natural, flowing and still industrial and Timberkrete nailed it with these pieces. Everyone comments on them. They are more works of art in some ways than furniture. The massive walnut boardroom table certainly steals the show. I am amazed at the craftsmanship that went into these pieces.

Testimonials

Tim N.

We wanted our fireplace to be a true centerpiece anchoring the room.  I can’t believe it still, when I look at the finished product. We chose the slabs from the inventory TimberKrete had. To watch something go from a basic wood slab to this amazing finished mantle was quite the experience. I can’t say enough about Jesse’s skill and dedication to his craft.

People who come into the Cornerstone Market immediately comment on the live edge tables we have. The store has a whole new look and feel thanks to the solid slab tables from TimberKrete. We wholeheartedly recommend Jesse and company for all of your furniture and woodworking needs—with the amount of raw inventory they have you can literally create almost anything.

Our process begins with an in-depth discussion with the client. We want to understand your vision, your style and what will work best for your needs.

Live edge tables and island tops are unique--no two pieces are ever the same. So you know that the piece you get will be distinctive and custom designed specifically for your room or office.

Once we come up with a general design idea in terms of the live edge table / island top size, wood species and thickness, as well as leg/base style, then it is up to us to bring your perfect piece to life.

But make no mistake about it, our clients are integral to the design process. After all, we want your custom live edge table to be a reflection of you. If you're not happy, we're not happy.

Design ~ Fabrication ~ Pure Craftsmanship

Straight from our mill and shop to your home/office...

Creating beautiful live edge tables and islands is all about the process. That process starts at our sawmill. With a ton of tree species to choose from--walnut, beech, poplar, hickory, maple, just to name a few--we can design and build virtually any table or island top you have in mind.

State-of-the-art mills do the heavy lifting. From there, the live edge slab goes to our fabrication shop where the wood is professionally kiln dried on site. Once it reaches the ideal humidity level, we are ready to roll.

Your custom piece is the only one of its kind! That is our promise to you.

Who Are the People Behind Live Edge Table & Island?

So who are we? While we’re not really ones to talk about ourselves, we’d love to give you some background on our company…

The owner, Jesse Phelps, got his start in construction at a very early age. This means he’s essentially been building things all his life. You could say that construction and craftsmanship are his calling. But his passion has always been working with trees and timber. He thus founded Live Edge Table and Island in 2010 (originally named TimberKrete).

Jesse’s vision was to take wood slabs and create legacy pieces from them. These would be pieces that families could have for generations to come. Far more than just a “dining table” or “kitchen island,” the wood slab and live edge furniture that Jesse and company have been building are truly works of art.

Josh Phelps represents the next generation of Live Edge Table & Island. Following in his father’s footsteps, Josh is looking to continue the tradition of this furniture making company. Leading the marketing and sales side of things, Josh is steadily learning everything there is to know about the timber that his father has dedicated his life to transforming into spectacular dining tables, live edge counters, wood slab desks and more.
